Translation Notes From Katie:

My source/ワタシの始源
A combination of two words that are both pronounced shigen: 資源 (resources) and 始原 (origin/source)

Adaptive scatteration
A portmanteau of tekiouhousan (the usual reading for 適応放散), adaptive radiation, and kakusan (拡散)... shattering. The shi at the end just makes it a verb with a tense... I didn’t do that; it’s complicated enough as-is.

Alamosaurus
This verse describes the actual course of some events in prehistory. The Triassic Period was the beginning of the Mesozoic Era. At some point in the middle of the Mesozoic, there began an adaptive radiation event known as the Mesozoic-Cenozoic explosion (thought to be ongoing). The Cretacious-Paleogene boundary marked the end of the Mesozoic and involved a major extinction event; as of October 2017, it is thought that Alamosaurus died out at this time, as the newest fossils found of them are from around this boundary.

Namely, non-avian dinosaur actors.
It’s been established now that from a phylogenetic perspective, birds actually fall under the category of dinosaurs... so in science, any blanket statement about dinosaurs would be considered incorrect if it is not true of birds. In order to be able to talk about what are generally considered dinosaurs without including birds by default, scientists now use the phrase “non-avian dinosaurs.” This song uses the direct equivalent of that phrase in Japanese.

Connected by Majungasaurus (non-avian theropods)

Theropods are the group of dinosaurs that include birds and their ancestors. Majungasaurus and Tyrannosaurus were both non-avian theropods.

It can go to you!
I’m not sure about this line. 行ける is the potential form of 行く, which usually means ‘go’ or ‘go towards’, but it can also mean ‘proceed’ or ‘take place’, according to jisho, and ni can mean either ‘to’ or ‘in’. I’m not sure if this should be “It can go to you” or “It can take place in you.” Feedback welcome!

Translation Notes From EJ:

On the border of the Cretaceous period and the Cenozoic era, the Alamosaurus was completely wiped out
This probably refers to the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event.
