L’Etranger
This is probably a reference to the novel L’Etranger by Albert Camus, called The Stranger or The Outsider in English. I haven’t read it yet, but it seems probable because its title is written out in kanji the same way.

To the empty shell of my beloved self
The word written is 脱殻, which represents the word nukegara, cast-off shell or skin. It’s pronounced degara here, though. There is a word degara, written almost the same way: 出殻; it refers to tea or coffee grounds, so same basic concept: empty husk, “leftovers”, what’s been used up.

I embark upon an eternal journey
Towa, eternity, normally written 永久, is here written 永遠, which normally is read as eien, meaning... also eternity. Jisho.org says that towa “tends to be more abstract”.


Translation notes from allegoriest:

The title is always pronounced in French/English. I translated the English line into French. Which is usually against all I believe in. (Latin is usually the main offender, but really, if Seazer wants something in Latin, he will put that shit in Latin.) However, the chorus would be THREE LINES of the same thing. Also they keep putting the title in French. Does it make sense? I don’t know. I can’t French.

I still remember, My body I’ve shed
The last written line of each verse says something akin to “Shed skin” like those terrible bugs’ exoskeletons at summer that are really loud and I don’t know what they’re called in English. They’re saying “karada” though which is body. So it’s always shed body.

The second verse does this weird strange-kana thing which for the life of me I can’t get my computer to make. I suspect I found the main offender’s unicode but it won’t display it. I thusly can’t look them up. But they always make the same sound so I used them like that. Mui is pronounced that way instead of ‘nai’ which makes a negative, and mui is more a nothing word, and, well, I hate that whole sentence, skip. Apparently downy hair is the peachfuzz stuff on your cheek.haha seriously fuck unicode ultra special characters.

Oh, uhh, Étranger is like, foreigner, or, alternatively, stranger, but I like foreigner for this.
