Translation Notes From allegoriest:

Alcenoterius
is a word I made up. In fairness to myself, he also apparently made up アルセノテリュス because all I find is this album. I’ve tried typing so many things it could be and I’ve looked through pages and pages of results for it only finding the album and you know what, fuck you man.

Vimal
is a Sanskrit name for Pure and clean.

Theatromeda and Theatrosaurus
are Andromeda and Tyrannosaurus with theatre! Like, really. I don’t write this, okay.

A gnomon
is the thing that makes a sundial work. *rainbow of education*

Viser
Means point and aim in several languages. I assume it means that.

Panopticon
is a building design for a prison that in theory lets one guard watch everyone and makes everyone behave because, dude, he could be looking RIGHT NOW. I feel it’s worth they realized it could totally be for other things and they went NOPE, PRISON

Translation Notes From EJ:

“Arsenothelus”
“Arsenothelus” is a Greek term. I suspect Seazer’s source for it is Shibusawa Tatsuhiko‘s 1964 book Cosmographia Fantastica, in which it is defined as the “original spirit,” or Spirit of God, that is both male and female. Shibusawa attributes this definition to the Gnostic heretic Simon the Magician (Simon Magus) as quoted by Saint Hippolytus in his Philosophumena, or Refutation of All Heresies, though the term does not appear in any English version of that text that I can find. Most of the reason I think Seazer got it from Shibusawa is that that is literally the only Japanese-language book I can find that mentions the term,  but it’s also because both Seazer and Shibusawa seem to treat it as a proper name. English sources that I have found treat it as an adjective or non-specific epithet glossed, for example, as “man-womanish” or “hermaphrodite.”

Translation Notes From Katie:

1. A skyscraper living in Vimal Palace (instrumental)
With some difficulty, I managed to find that ???? is in fact a way of writing the Hindi word ????, which is written in the Latin alphabet as Vimal or Vimala. There are several meanings to this, and one of them does refer to a palace: “One of the palaces of Piyadassi Buddha before his renunciation.” There were also a couple of kings with that name, so it could refer to one of their palaces. It also can mean “pure” or “iron pyrite.” We’re probably not going to get any context to help us since this is an instrumental track; for now, I’d say the Buddha’s palace is the best guess.

3. Extra-Human Imagination Dwarf Star Ryuugo
Ryuugo seems to be an alternative way of writing ??, meaning “hourglass-shaped object” or “saragaku performance using such object.” I also found out, totally by accident, that it’s the title of an essay by Tatsuhiko Shibusawa, who was a huge influence on Seazer

4. Teatromeda Teatrosaurus–The Existence of a Child of Light and a Child of Darkness through Possibility–

(I might not have the right word order for this because I don’t really know Japanese grammar. Feedback is appreciated).

8. Baroque rock–Changing Completely Year-by-Year rock-a-bye,rock.a.by(e)–

I suppose you could also translate the “Changing Completely Year-by-Year” bit as “Annual Revolution.”

Bonus Disc: 1. The Inversion of Me and My Room
This is listed as a “recorded, unused choral song,” although technically it was used in the Utena video game. It’s from a play called… C. Island Fantasy Barbecue Sauce -At the End of The Long Absence-.

Bonus Disc: 2. Missing Link
From Darwin -Time is a Theatre Set of Hypothesis and Illusion-.

Bonus Disc: 3. Dance of Flight=I Am Various, Infinite, Myriad People
From Animorphosure Music Play Kafka’s Egg Bell Comparing Mirror’s Inner Trick Orphes, or the Method for Operating the Sutures of Dramatic Language… Not sure how accurate that is because the words were strung together in such a confusing way and I have no context. By “Orphes” I mean “Orphe” in katakana with the pluralizing suffix in hiragana… Orphe is probably short for Orpheus even though that makes no sense pluralized, but it’s also the French word for gilt-head bream, so that’s the other reading. With the other songs, the connection to Utena is specified, but there’s none mentioned here; it’s rare because apparently it wasn’t even used in this play it was written for–this is the song’s first public release.
