This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

Actually, for whatever reason, I tend to prefer Utena fics with metacommentary, be it MSTing or just characters talking over the events or to the audience. I think it's the Shadow Girls Effect. Then I assume you'd be drawn towards reasonably well-written fics featuring the Shadow Girls prominently?
I'd definitely be game for it.

There is Alan Harnum's Jaquemart (google and it shall be found) in case you haven't read that one yet.
And, that other fan fave, Jude's Archimage have lots of shadow play scenes. And if I remember correctly, that author have a short piece that features the shadow girls as leads.
Less-talked-about ones are:
Adolescence Renaissance

New World Revolution

The Other Side of the Picture

April Fools

My own crack humor fic SKU: Non-Out-Of_Left-Field Remix, has the Shadow Girls as leads AND narrators:

And of course there's also my . . . no, I've already done way too much self promoting in a thread that should've been about OTHER'S fics, as it is.
Hope you find something you like!

True story: When I read the remix fic the other night, I missed that A/B/C-ko were the shadow girls and was voicing the Project A-Ko principals in my head. This seemed completely reasonable at the time.

Hope that entertained you anyway: I would've continued it into the MovieVerse, except that I don't have the movie's script.
