This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

Yeah, I can't imagine why they would be villains again. Unless it's like...they're pretending for their reality show fans? I'm so excited though!
Now THAT would be funny.

I scanned the latest magazine spread: http://rinmatsuokas.tumblr.com/post/141 … together-a so cute. I never knew how much I loved these two until I saw the preview for this poster and freaked out.
There were also two pages about Atsushi: http://rinmatsuokas.tumblr.com/post/141 … at-some-of (open them in a new tab to make them bigger)

I think I'm just going to settle for an OT3 when it comes to At-chan. XD Love that picture!
So, thoughts about the new season trailer? The sun/ moon twins? It seems like they might be the new villains and the Student Council more like Outer Senshi anti-heroes?

Ha! I'm so glad I've revisited here, I would have never learned about this otherwise.
There's a trailer? :>

I'm not adverse to an OT3 myself.
I'm excited to see more about the twins, they seem interesting. I wonder if they'll have some kind of animal companion of their own? It says they're idols, so I can see one of the aliens promising to make them famous intergalactically or something.

I haven't seen the trailer yet myself (all I found was something on youtube that was blocked by Pony Canyon in the US. ) but here's a picture of the twins if you haven't seen it: http://boueibu.com/images/news/p_001.jpg

I'm hoping for some fun Sailor Stars parody goodness. I was a little disappointed that they are identical twins though, as the first thought that popped into my head when I heard 'sun and moon themed twins' was one all golden and blond and the other silvery w black hair. :C *pouty face*
I like how the twin on the left has Yumoto-style frilly additions to the uniform.

So season two.

Yeah! I loved ep 1. Lots of fodder for my ship. But I'm a bit bummed Kinshiro is leaving.. I hope the student council will be back before the end. I'm excited to see more of the twins, their sugar glider is cute.

I'm sure they will be back real soon. They are way too popular to be shelved.
I hope

Some great SKU-style organ music in ep2, when the twins are chilling in their Rose Lounge.

The Juri-style fencing helmet removal made me chuckle.

Ah, I haven't had time to watch season two eps yet but I'll make sure to catch up on them this weekend. If mostly because I've missed posting in this thread (nah, I like the show a whole lot!)

I've only just seen ep1 so far. As to be expected, scary cute!
Yumoto molesting Wombat was positively creepy, the new outfits are rococo of kawai, and don't let me get started on the agony of Kinishiro-Atsushi drama. Oh, and Yumoto's brother's hatcheted wrath is always a pleasure.
I did not even realize how I'd missed this. Ep 2 to go soon.

Episode 3: 14 minutes from now on Crunchyroll
EDIT: For the first time I'm pretty disappointed in an episode. It was fairly repetitive and I felt that the brotherly love thing between Yumoto and Goro was supposed to end with a joke but it never went anywhere. It was way too over the top and mushy to be touching. And like, Goro's love and devotion towards Yumoto is pretty well established at this point. Furthermore, the episode was pretty repetitive. The monster of the week dude was pretty funny though - the way he said 'WHAT' in English was really funny.
There are some interesting points. Goro seems to be more involved in the show so far than season 1 and I think it has something to do with the twins. When Yumoto eats the rice buns that Goro made, the twins remark that he does not deserve to eat them. And when their flying squirrel dude mentions 'jealousy burning' for the second time, it's obvious he's talking about the twins and not their monster of the day target. Their problem at the moment seems to be Yumoto more than the Defence Club itself.

My exact thoughts. Kin-chan gets bonus points for me by being voiced by Kamiya Hiroshi, too.
Episode 1 was a blast, loved the random throwback about the constitution (even if all things considered, it might not be all that funny). They are going all out with the fan-service here, so much naked ass...and I am not complaining.
Yumoto's transformation sequence is still keeping up with the Sailor Moon motif, which is hilarious as ever.

Episode 4 was really funny, was absolutely ridiculous.
PAAFECT FUTAGO DESUU
Thought: the Beppus want to be idols yet they absolutely hate and loathe the fanbase that they themselves made/brainwashed. On the other hand they are very unsettled by honest kindness (Yumoto offering them some lunch). At this point it's pretty clear they hate Yumoto due to his relationship with Gora, so could they have something to do with Gora's past?

Just watched episodes 3 and 4.
I liked ep 3 a lot, it didn't feel repetitive to me. I like Gora. And little Yumoto crying feels like the whole world's pang of guilt.
As for ep 4, is it just me or is this show really getting creepier still. Not an easy fit.
Chest hair, eh?

Yeah, absolutely.

Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood when I watched episode 3. I usually can't stop grinning and chucking when I watch Boueibu and I just wasn't feeling it...
EDIT: They did the gay sports anime episode.
This is best show

I liked episode 3 as well and it was actually something of a revelation. All this time, I've been thinking that Yumoto reminded me of another character but I could not quite put my finger on it. Then episode 3 rolled by and it suddenly hit me: in a strange way, Yumoto is very much like a gender flipped version of Kafuka from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
Both are ditzy, roll with the punches way too easily, keep an upbeat and positive attitude no matter what and are something of a mystery to the rest of the cast. Their super, hyper, enthusiastic personality leaves those around them baffled more often than not. Their solution will always default to 'love' or at least something very bright and optimistic. They seem to have the emotional age of children yet manage to be insightful. And the fact that the two series, for all their many differences, are very self-conscious parodies that delight in anime trops only seals the deal even further.
Of course, there are some rather...less than salubrious implications from this comparison that make it difficult for me to ever see Yumoto in quite the same way. Spoilers for Sayonara following, in the light of episode 3 of Binan
[So Yumoto and Gora's parents are on a 'hot springs tour' that is almost certain code for their being dead. That is weirdly akin to Kafuka's delusion about her family, her parents trying to hang themselves being retooled as their 'trying to become taller'. It was at that moment that I made the connection and dear god, it'll probably stay with me forever.]

The latest episode (7) was perfection.
En was the best.

The Christmas episode was hilarious. S2 so far has been hit or miss for me, but the Christmas ep caught Boueibu's old stride. And it added some much needed development to the twins, who felt flat before.

I agree. Especially compared to the Student Council. They are getting interesting though.
Of note: 'those who live in reality'.
Second of note: The flying squirrel seems somehow genuinely fond of the twins? It seems he actually tried to stop the monster and when it didn't work, he warned the twins their plan had failed. He could have refused to stop the monster or just pretended to and not show up again. That plus the way he's always feeding them...
Offline
Yeah he seems pretty fatherly towards them. They need to appreciate him more though. Poor little squirrel is trying his best to cook them delicious food.
