This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
I found this: http://www.family-crest-jewelry.com/(no. 45)
So, what do you guys think? I'm pretty sure it's a fake, unless Be-PAPAS somehow used the same insignia as some European royal family.

It's a custom signet ring/crested jeweler site. They make family crests from descriptions, and it looks like some Utena fan requested one from them. I saw it a few years ago, but they were too rich for my blood, especially for something you can't see first hand. Plus, they only had it sizes 5-8 at the time, and my buddies are at 8.5 :/
Thus I make my own! =3

Ah yes, I've known about that site for a long while. They also have a Legend of Zelda themed one on there:
So yeah, it's just something an Utena fan had made for their personal use.
It's definitely too nicely made to be called a "knock-off", but it's obviously not true to the design in the show, and personally, I think it's a poor rendition of the symbol itself...the central diamond element is shaped wrong...
Still, for a long time I've thought about having them, or rather another site like it, make a more accurate version of the rose crest, but I've never had the spare money lying around...also, Nozomi just came along and gave me a very nice version for free.

Yeah, I also agree think the overall ring design is lovely and solid enough not to qualify as a knock-off. Of course, knock-off all depends on your definition; I always took it to mean of lower quality, etc.
Actually, as far as the rose goes, unless I'm missing something, I would think that the signet, itself, is pretty true to the original.
It's just the band that I wouldn't too much care for, if you're going for authenticity. KoharuXcandy has a very nice article with pictures of the different signet rings from the series, which can be a help, if a series ring is your cup of tea. And, of course, the Ohtori Academy Rose Signet Gallery is a great starting reference of looking at the different sort of rings out there. (My sources are borrowed from both.)
As far as official rings go, from what I understand, back in the day, two separate companies made two rings: (1) Shogakukan released one "official" version of the signet ring which, imvho, is not the most accurate ring out there (pic); and (2) MOVIC produced a ring based off of the movie, pics to be found here.
I believe that Utena rings are very much ymmv. For example, a while ago, I considered my ideal ring to be a replica of the series, silver, pink signet, etc, something that wasn't huge/wide on my finger. I think The Utena Signet Ring Fanbase does wonderful work, but I couldn't afford the quality or the newNozomi Utena boxset, which only gave a promise of a ring, if supplies didn't run out. A couple months ago, I did find my ring, one of the old MOVIC Utena rings on eBay, in excellent condition, and I got a decent deal.
Though the movie ring is... unique, the band very ornate, etc, I just loved having a ring. That first month, I threatened one of my best Utena-friends with a slap, lest she become my faithful rose bride, and then tried to summon the power of Greyskull because that was my ambition as a little girl. tl;dr, but I like the family crest ring. But for around $150 and that band, eh. Maybe I'd consider it, if it were pink and not red, but that is just me.
All this being said, codeblackhayate, I am a large fan of your work, for creating a ring that is true to form and not massive.

Oh thank goodness I was able to find this thread again. A million thank-yous for still having the link active.
A lot of fan-made Utena signets seem to be made of nickel-plates or silver. This is one of the first options I have for trying it in ( white ) gold.

Happened to find this thread and just thought I'd jump in and mention that I'm the fan who commissioned the ring on this site. The ring in the picture is the exact ring I'm wearing right now. I rather like how the design came out, and I chose the ring style as a personal touch because I thought it was pretty that way. I've worn it constantly for something like 8 years now, and it's held up well, though the pink enamel has worn mostly off over time. Just thought someone might like to know.

That's really awesome, thanks for letting us know! It's really a gorgeous ring, I envy you.

I really like this one. Bit of a high price tag though, but it's real silver:

Does your ring make wax stamps?

I've used it that way several times, yup. It's not as impressive as I might have wished due to the relatively small size of the rose - but then again, a larger one would be somewhat clunkier and as I said, I wear this 24/7.
It does still look pretty, just not readily recognisable without looking closely, due to size.

This is really frustrating because I spent a lot of time and effort and money getting some custom SKU rose crest swag and then this shows up! I collect silver so it fits pefectly into my collection and you can wear it with anything, anywhere. The ring has always been tempting but also a bit iffy for me due to size & I'm not much of a ring wearer.
So this goes on my to buy list. *cries forever*

Does anyone know what happened to the The Utena Signet Ring Fanbase? I see that their site is down.
I've saved away some money and I think it's time to finally get a ring of my own. Thanks for all the helpful links above. I'm gonna start doing my research.

I was wondering about the site myself, as I've checked on it periodically over the last several months and found it down each time. It turned out well in the end, because I kept researching and found a ring design that I loved even more, which I just ordered and received. But I'm also curious to know what happened to the Signet Ring Fanbase. Such gorgeous work there, especially the manga rings!

I know an online store from Spain and they sell it internationally (as far as I know, the Utena cosplayer from the pics is north-american). They sell necklaces and earrings with the same rose signet too. I have a ring from them, something around 50€ (55 USD~ + S&H). If anyone is interested:

I just received my ring from them a few days ago!! And it's gorgeous. Though I'm currently waiting to have it resized - my fault for giving the wrong size, as I forgot that thick-banded rings need to be bigger - everyone who's seen it so far (including the jeweler!) has commented on how pretty and interesting it is, even without recognizing the rose symbol's origin.
I'm going to order a black rose ring once my red one is ready.

Glad to hear that! I've bought mine several years ago, I think most than a decade! I used to wear it 24/7 but since I'm actually engaged (like 5 years or so) I do not wear it anymore. No worry, it's in my Utena Temple (yes, I have one of those xD).
As far as the ring goes, I was looking for the black one, and the etsy one in this post looks quite decent and gorgeous. Sadly it seems like that shop closed a while ago. Does anyone know a thing about this matter?

Oh my gosh, they're beautiful! Are they stainless steel/ silver, do you know? I really really want a ring but the best ones I've found so far have been in the region of $160 which is more than I'm willing to pay. But if I put down 50 bucks I at least want to know it'll last/ not oxidize and turn orangey.
I love the earrings and the pendants O: And the rings. And the everythings.

Palacio de los Cuervos. The online store on their website isn't functioning currently, but you can still order a ring by emailing them and making arrangements by PayPal.

This thread makes me want one so much, but I know I wouldn't plunk down serious cash unless I was buying one for someone else.
