Description: Though commonly combined with the last 6 episodes under the heading 'The Apocalypse Saga', this batch of episodes was separated from it for a long time by fansubbers and the old SKU community as its own thing, called The Akio Arc. Being an Akio fan I'm inclined to do this, but also it does distinguish this set of episodes from the ones that come after. The structure of duels is preserved here, and the battles that take place are effectively each duelists' swan song in the show, fueled by the encounter each has with the heretofore elusive Ends of the World. After this, the focus of the show narrows to the key players in the central story.
