  • Description: The animators returned from their little strike in the last couple episodes (a shame because they're some of the best in the series) to see to it the final three look amazing. The focus is primarily on what comes of our heroine and the sibling relationship she butt into, with a little closure for the other characters on the side. This episode is full of subtext, even for SKU. Anthy chiding Chu-Chu when she's plainly speaking to Akio, Utena consenting to eat poisonous cookies when it's suggested she'd been given them, and Akio confessing to a disinterest in the stars. Will Utena face Ends of the World? How is it she still hasn't figured out it's Akio even after carving up dozens of his car in the arena? I don't know.
