  • Description: The first arc of the show, according to Ikuhara, was meant to be a segue between the experience viewers expect from shoujo anime (ie. his work on Sailor Moon) and the experience they'll have as this story progresses and becomes darker. This arc was also the only portion of the show available in English for a very long time. It was released in horrifying pink and blue VHS tapes in 1998, shortly after the show's run in Japan. It wasn't until 2002 the complete show was made available in English.
