This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
That's right. Instead of packing, I did this. Who wins? YOU DO. Something something voodoo, I hate that movie and Akio looks nothing like Jareth.
Ahem. Anyway. So the site is updated! Lots of new images for the gallery as gathered on this here forums and cleaned up. Clarice's FUCKING AMAZING ESSAYS, and more. As inspired by our recent uh...affair...with J-Syxx, there is now an entire subsection of the site for interviews and commentaries by Ikuhara and his buddies. So if you want to act like you know what the creators of the show said but can't be assed to quote directly...well you suck, because I just made it very easy for you.
Also I'm tired. Goodnight.

Update is awesome, thanks Gio! I especially love how the new front page is so brightly colored, and just a tease for when one clicks the BePapas section - awesome design! Reading through it all now!

Gorgeous new pages. Just spent the last hour going through everything. Brilliant! Thanks for all the hard work.

Whoooa I like the new layout. It's a lot less ominous than the last one! And the Creators section is gold. I wish I knew of interviews apart from these, so that I too could spend hours on the Wayback Machine looking for archived copies to contribute Thank you for whatever combination of love for the show, love for the fans, and obsessive-compulsive disorder led to your making this!

Dear Gio,
ILY for the alt text on the new layout.
I'll miss the old design cause I really did love that picture of Anthy but this one is quite fab as well! Thank you for your hard work.

Audiology and Vector links are broken, seem to have double "http://".
Oop! Fixed! Sorry about that, coding the front page is always done near the home stretch when I'm tired. Also, my mom's trunk top fell on my head yesterday and I've been seeing stars since.
Glad everyone's enjoying!

Great job!! I'm still thrawling through all the new stuff. I love the new frontpage, the big-ass interview section, and the new art
Fun note: Back in the 90s in Argentina we heard a rumour that there was a butchered version of Utena doing the rounds in central america, and that if Utena came to our TVs (back then TV being, of course, the main way to see new anime in south america) we'd get that version. That is none other than the Ursula's Kiss version that is linked in the miscellaneous section of From the Mouths of Babes! Now I wanna investigate to see if this abomination (Tommy? TOMMY?) was ever made into a spanish-language dub!

I know SKU was aired in...Mexico, I think. But they only aired up to episode 32.
Huh.

Gio, you are the best in the universe. I am sending an trussed-up Akio to your front door right now. I absolutely adore the new site. (Well, I've been obsessed with the site for years.) I can't wait to dig through it in depth.

Trussed up Akio?
I'm moving in with Yasha this week. That'll be an excellent housewarming present.

Does that mean I need to send Touga?

Looking at the new Empty Movement layout. it's a very very happy change. I liked the skewered Anthy, too, but this one is very soft to the eyes.
Meanwhile, you should sell your car and by a red ferrari to match your Akio, and when you're at the gas station, you can take your sweet time touching his tra-la-la

Loving this.

Gio's the one you need to thank All I did was transcribe a couple of interviews and tell Gio how awesome her layout was. Actually, I told her that it would be even more awesome if she drew a little samurai Chu Chu staving off the army of dickmonster tanks with his spear and bandanna, but there wasn't space in the layout and you can't have everything. MOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Yeah, but the all three of you are still what has made this place possible.
And thanks to the new layout, now whenever my mom reads my laptop screen over my shoulder, she'll think I'm visiting a fluffy lesbian cartoon site as opposed to a hardcore bondage porn lesbian cartoon site. Something tells me this layout just barely edged out Gio's design for a layout, with little tear-and-something-else stains for the navigation buttons.

Very nice to have all the staff interviews and commentaries in one place. Thanks for doing it.

This site looks so happy. So inviting. Welcoming. Yes, come in, little guppies. Look at all the pretties, let me take your coat, don't mind the wandering hands.

I have a chat saved with Saito (and Ikuhara in the room, but not chatting) with several Utena questions that used to be on SciFi.com, but disappeared from the 'net a while back. I glanced through the ones posted on the new subsite and I think this is one that's not there. Though you may have it.
Some excerpts in case you do have it:
MODERATOR: <Puu> The relationship between Utena and Anthy seems to differ between the anime and the manga. What did you intend their relationship to be?
CHIHO-HIME: Their relationship is probably something like husband and wife.
CHIHO-HIME: Sometimes they get along, othertimes, they fight. They are bonded by love and hatred.
MODERATOR: <Uther> what is the real age of Anthy Himemiya?
CHIHO-HIME: Uther: She must be of an age that even I'm not aware of...
CHIHO-HIME: But she was born on a leap year, so she only ages once every 3-4 years.
MODERATOR: <Clarisse> What would you say that the theme of 'Utena' is?
CHIHO-HIME: Mr. Ikuhara says, "That's a difficult question to answer"...
CHIHO-HIME: "It's about changing your personality"...
CHIHO-HIME: "That is not about changing it because you lost fighting society"...
CHIHO-HIME: "But by changing your personality"...
CHIHO-HIME: "Your world view changes."
